Seems simple to me. I believe the recipe for fun calls for combining good people with real, delicious food.
It starts with the people. I want our family and friends to feel welcome, comfortable and loved. From small gathers, to Thanksgiving (around 20 people), to large parties (160+ at our annual pig roast), it's all good.
I like food that tastes oh so good. Fussy isn't my thing. Rather simple, satisfying; basic but with a special touch. I try to find just a little something to made a difference. (For example: I squeeze fresh lemon juice on blueberries in the morning.)
While I have many, many tried and true recipes, I am always on the lookout for something new. And my source of inspiration can come from anywhere... friends, family, magazines, newspapers, TV, Online, etc. Sometimes my best ideas come from whatever I happen to have on hand.
When it comes to feeding people, I like to plan the menu, shop for the right and best ingredients even if it means I have to go to multiple stores/shops, do the cooking, set the table (environment), match the drinks, and enjoy the evening. I try to be efficient as I can on the planning, prepping, set up, etc., so I can enjoy my family and the fun. Though I admit it, I could do without the clean up!
This blog is about sharing my life through food. I hope you enjoy it.
